20. Go on a midnight picnic

Leading up to number 20, it seemed like a very silly idea for someone who is normally in bed by 9pm! But hey, what can you do?! The list was beckoning and there has to be much worse ideas than heading out late to partake in delicious picnic food eating!!

Turns out, it was the BEST IDEA EVER!!

A stunning group of my friends (I know it was dark, but trust me, they truly are stunning!) joined me in knocking number 20 off the list! We decided on Easter Sunday as the perfect date due to the public holiday the next day - remember we (or at least me) are getting old and a next day sleep in was an important requirement of the date picking process!

At 10pm we met up at the Kangaroo Point cliffs, baskets and blankets in hand and armed with many a delicious treat to celebrate Easter and eat, eat, eat (cause clearly all the chocolate of Easter was not enough!!). Turns out all of my friends are amazing cooks! We'll keep them around :)

Things got a bit scary there for a moment however when the toilets were locked at Midnight, especially for the two girls wearing onesies!! Thankfully there were no awkward incidents........

5. Bake a Pumpkin Pie

Living the American dream!!

This one has been something I have wanted to tackle for many many years, and by tackle I may have been meaning 'have mum bake it for me'! Nevertheless it was time to get my Masterchef on and hit the kitchen!

This post will be more of a picture blog, as I'm sure no one wants to read through step by step notes on baking, but the one thing that needs to be said is:

I NAILED IT!

From the home made crust, to the delicious filling, I OWNED THIS PUMPKIN PIE!!! Could not have been more chuffed and impressed with myself (just ask me!!)

Once again, big shout out and thank you to Tina who helped me get through this baking extravaganzer - her and the couple of glasses of wine :)

List item number 5 - smashed and in many a happy belly's across Brisbane!! Now I can host Thanksgiving! Naturally 'Yipeeeeeee's' are heard all across Queensland.............thank goodness for that!

6. Learn to drive a manual car

This was the first task that had me wishing it never made the list!

As the moment got closer to having to get behind the wheel of the big scary manual car, the more I felt sick to the stomach!! The idea of failing and not being able to do it scared me a lot more than I thought it would and there was much panic, butterflies and nervous palm sweating! On top of this there may have even been a slight temper tantrum (who, me??) prior to sliding into the drivers seat, but luckily for me my fantastic friend Tina, who was also my trusty driving instructor is use to my said tantrums, and made me do it anyway!

After a run through from Tina on how it all works, it was time to set off and balance the move between clutch and accelerating with chants in my head of 'please don't bunny hop, please don't bunny hop'!!

And.........success!! No hopping for me! I successfully set off into first, second, third gear and was truly flying along, wind in the hair, at the crazy speed of 60 (or was it 40??) - but hey, who cares, I was driving!!

What can I say, Mt Panorama, here I come!!

My highlights included conquering corners, driving around pedestrians and many a parked car without hitting anyone/thing and allowing Tina's car to stay bump free!

No major rush to get out there and do it all again, but if there is ever an emergency and no one else is around who can drive a manual car, and there is only manual cars available, I'm your girl!! To make sure I don't forget my new found skills, Tina will also make me do refresher courses every so often.

Big credit to all those manual drivers out there, the coordination and remembering everything that needs to be done is impressive plus!

A HUGE thanks to Tina for helping me stay calm (eventually) and get through number 6 on my list!! DONE!

Friday 6th April - Either this person is a Rabbitohs supporter, or just really loves Easter!

Thursday 5th April - On the tenth day of Easter, we channelled our inner bunny and went with carrot...................cake!

Wednesday 4th April - On the ninth day of Easter, Hillers gave to me.......................HOT CHOC CROSS BUNS!!



Tuesday 3rd April - It's getting harder and harder to get up at this time!

Monday 2nd April - My first Easter gift!! From my lovely employee at work :)



Sunday 1st April - Pinch and a punch for the 1st of the month, and a stunning Sunday afternoon sunset!!

Saturday 31st March - A pic from Moose's SURPRISE Hen's night!! The lady herself with her Blueberry Mofo!

Friday 30th March - .........ended up being a great game!
